About

The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell of Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering (PCCOE) is a dedicated institutional body established to promote innovation, creativity, and systematic protection of intellectual assets. The Cell facilitates patent filing, copyright and design registration, and supports technology transfer and commercialization initiatives for faculty, researchers, and students. It also conducts awareness programs, workshops, and expert guidance sessions on IP laws, drafting practices, filing procedures, and related legal frameworks.

Preamble

In alignment with the institute's vision to strengthen research and innovation, the IPR Cell functions as a structured support system to identify, protect, and commercialize intellectual properties generated within the campus. The Cell ensures proper documentation, legal compliance, and strategic development of intellectual assets while fostering industry collaboration and entrepreneurial outcomes.

Information & Achievements

To date, the Cell has facilitated the filing of 101 patents, all of which have been published, and 37 patents have been granted, with the institute as the applicant. In recognition of its outstanding contribution to IP creation and commercialization, PCCOE was honoured with the National Intellectual Property Award by Mr. Piyush Goyal, Union Minister for Commerce & Industry, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The award was presented by the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trademarks, acknowledging the institute's excellence in intellectual property development and commercialization.

Cash Incentive for Patents

Financial rewards for patent publishing and grant when PCCoE is applicant

Effective from February 3, 2022: Cash incentives on publishing and grant of patents when PCCoE is listed as an applicant are applicable as per the following structure. Faculty members are encouraged to file patents with institutional support.
